| Description: | In mid 2000 Peter and Lydia Snow purchased the Tarrawarra parish property now known as Outlook Hill. The site was carefully chosen, with its ancient, low fertility soils and aspect, ideally suited to wine grape growing and the wine tourism business they had in mind.
The vineyard comprises 5.3 hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. The mission at Outlook Hill is simply to produce the best possible cool climate wine with varietal character, complexity, individuality and importantly at value pricing to cellar door visitors. The wines, crafted by Al Fencaros, have had both an excellent reception in the market and media/show judging with the owners particularly proud of successive year top 5 Australasian finalist wines in the national Winestate magazine’s prestigious annual awards, being: - Chardonnay 2003 in 2004 and Pinot Noir 2004 in 2005. Peter and Lydia have established their tourism enterprise and wine range at Outlook Hill without any pretension and reflecting their relaxed, friendly attitude to wine and its essentially social nature. They welcome you to “Come see for yourself! and share the outlook” The cellar door is a comfortable/inviting room on the terrace overlooking the panorama of the central Yarra Valley-and next door to the highly rated Cru Restaurant. |

Outlook Hill
The Outlook Hill Vineyard is located on the sunny foothills of the Ranges overlooking the Tarrawarra parish and central Yarra Valley floor. The vineyard soils are typically light sandy clay loam and are highly suited to low yield/high quality grape growing.
The grape varieties of the vineyard comprise Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The owners, Peter and Lydia are resident on the property and personally manage all vineyard operations with professional contracting assistance in the busy periods. Visitors to the vineyard are welcome to arrange a personally conducted tour.
