| Description: | Our winemaking heritage has follow over three continents, from my great grandfather Fernando whom was a winemaker in the Reggio Emilia, Parma Region in Italy. He then migrated to Argentina where he also made wine, and my wife & I migrated to Australia where we chose a site to plant vines in Avoca. We have established our vineyard in the same area that was known for the famous Clare Castle gold rush of 1859. Our planting started in 1992, and our first vintage was in 1997. Today St Ignatius Vineyard holds 20 Acres of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and soon some exotic varieties. The trade mark for all our wines is: Hangmans Gully.
